Please tell us more about yourself. Will the boys be away for Christmas? I'm so sorry that your friend is suffering so and while she is hurting you are hurting for her. Sometimes......not always.....thankfully. When the problem is psychiatric there is little we can do. Prayer...loving support with any small gift. I have learned to sometimes step away. Not because I want to but because there is no longer anything I can do. I have had several friends and family threaten suicide through the years. I get all the help for them I can and step away. Usually, later they are angry because they say I did not care enough to save them. I did care ....I did show it....but it was never enough. I still send a card on birthdays if they are still with us. But I go on with my life. My life is hard too. (no pity needed) Your life has it's hard times especially now as your parents are aging and the divorce plagues you with one thing after another. You will do best to make you and your boys life the best it can be. I'll be thinking of you and I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday. ((hugs)) Fe,
